The Heinkel He 219 Uhu was a german Luftwaffe night fighter operating mainly during the final stages of the Second World War. The specifications for an advanced night fighter were published by the RLM in 1942 and the He 219 was produced by this programme: a relatively sophisticated plane, including an advanced VHF-band intercept radar, ejection seats (it was the first operational military aircraft in the world that equipped them), and trycicle landing gear.
